WeatherShield® fabric, and it was designed to meet the protection needs of the RV market.

WeatherShield®HD uses the patented EPIC by Nextec® encapsulation process. Their proprietary
technology uses precision and controlled placement of special polymers to make ordinary fabrics extraordinary!
This encapsulation process places an ultra-thin film around the fabric fibers and precisely places a durable,
breathable barrier within the woven polyester fabric to complete the high performance finish process.
Unlike traditional coatings and laminations that just protect one side of the fabric, Nextec uses up to 40
computerized process controls to place protective polymers inside the fabric to shed water, dust, bird droppings,
tree sap and industrial pollutants.

This magnified photo gives you an idea how the encapsulation coats the fibers and fills the voids
between the threads with a breathable barrier to assure moisture, dust and pollutants are kept away
from the vehicle's finish. The base high-strength polyester fabric is naturally UV resistant,
but we've added UV inhibitors to the polymers to help slow down the degradation that occurs
naturally on anything exposed to sun for an extended period of time.

- Sheds Water - Polymer finish helps the fabric shed water as soon as it hits the cover.
- Superior Dry Time - Because the fabric sheds moisture, it has an absorption factor of only 2%,
compared with up to 40% for standard woven and non-woven fabrics. Less absorption means faster dry
time.
- Breathable - Allows any heat, moisture or condensation under the cover to easily escape.
- UV Block - Solution-dyed 300 denier polyester provides superior UV block to protect the
RV exterior and interior.
- UV Resistant - Special additives prevent fabric UV degradation and help provide a longer
cover service life.
- Dust-proof - Patented fiber encapsulation process prevents dust from filtering through
the fabric.
- Scratch-less - Polymers provide a silky smooth finish to the fabric and provide superior
paint protection. Nextec fabric has been tested at 1,000 cycles on abrasion wheels without
scratching (surface must be clean and waxed).
- Durable - The encapsulation process is not affected by heat or cold and the process
won't degrade over the life of the fabric.
- Easy Care - Can be washed right on the RV. Air dry is fast due to the fabric finish.

Thanks to its unique construction process, Sunbrella® Brand fabric provides protection
and years of service in intense sun areas, like Arizona and other areas of the Sunbelt, where
UV rays will rapidly degrade both the exterior and interior of any vehicle left outdoors.
Because of the use of acrylic fibers which are naturally UV resistant, Sunbrella has long been the
recognized leader in long-wearing marine fabrics for bimini tops, sail covers and deck enclosures.

Besides marine uses, Sunbrella is also used for commercial awnings due to its ability in providing
UV blockage with a rich, woven finish. The acrylic fibers are solution dyed, before the fabric is
woven, to assure the color goes all the way through the fabric. Using a special finish process,
the material is then softened for use as a vehicle cover fabric.

The fabric is exceptionally strong and, coupled with its UV resistance, it also makes an excellent
cover for RV's and trailers that spend extended time stored outside.
